Children in hospitals often rely on adult IV stands, which are unsafe and unsuitable for them. The poles are too tall, IV lines tangle easily, and unstable bases create tripping hazards. Active children, especially those not in the acute phase, want to move and explore, but pulling or riding the stand can cause accidents. Parents are forced to constantly supervise, carry their child, or use a stroller while also managing the IV stand—an exhausting task.
Ringo addresses these challenges by prioritizing safety, comfort, and fun. Inspired by the shape of a sailboat, it sparks imagination and encourages small hospital adventures. Ringo is a motorized IV mobility device designed specifically for children, moving at a safe speed of 3 km/h with a simple “GO” button on the handle. Its ergonomic seat allows children to sit comfortably, while four infrared sensors and a front-facing camera detect and avoid obstacles.
A portable remote control provides parents with emergency intervention. The sail-shaped IV holder neatly guides the line through a groove, preventing tangles. With Ringo, hospital strolls become safe and enjoyable journeys, giving children independence to explore and parents peace of mind.
