“The United Safety Front Brake Light (USFBL) is an innovative traffic-safety device designed to save lives by providing the world’s first front-facing brake signal. Unlike conventional rear brake lights, USFBL is installed inside the dashboard and emits a bright amber braking alert that is instantly visible to pedestrians and oncoming drivers. This reduces reaction time, prevents intersection and crosswalk collisions, and improves communication between vehicles and vulnerable road users.
Validated through a two-month on-road test by the Korea Road Traffic Authority, USFBL demonstrated high visibility in both day and night conditions, with more than 92% of observers correctly interpreting the signal as braking. The system complies with FMVSS lighting standards because amber is an approved forward-facing auxiliary color in the United States.
USFBL requires no modification to the vehicle exterior and can be installed in any car, truck, or bus—making it highly scalable for global safety adoption. Its simplicity, clarity, and universal visibility address a long-standing blind spot in transportation safety: the lack of front-facing braking information.
This design has the potential to significantly reduce pedestrian fatalities, improve driver awareness, and introduce a new standard for preventive safety worldwide.”
