People no longer regard the home as a place merely to stay. It has become the closest world for expressing one’s taste and sensibility, a stage where the rhythm and emotions of everyday life are composed. For Millennial and Gen-Z users, space is not something to simply decorate. It is a narrative environment shaped by personal experiences, preferences, and stories. Moments of reading, listening to music, or spending a quiet night alone are often defined most deeply by light. However, most lighting products are fixed in form and direction, failing to respond to the diverse scenes and emotional shifts within a space. There is a clear gap between the user’s changing mood and the static structure of conventional lighting. MOODI is designed to bridge that gap. With its modular structure, users can configure the direction, height, and composition of the light, allowing it to act as a device that stages each moment and atmosphere according to personal needs. MOODI is not merely an object that illuminates a room. It is a lighting object that completes the atmosphere, the emotional texture, and the personal narrative of a space.
JUDGES COMMENTS:
--Decent form work, this is what a lot of ID is about: approaching a known problem of product category and reimagining it in the effort of making it more useful and compelling
--Good solid industrial design but would benefit for further development, perhaps different lighting shapes and modules for different use-cases (reading, ambient lighting, etc)
