The new building of an Education Centre for Energy Efficiency and Barrier-Free Technologies TBZ forms a new, assertive urban development starting point for the education campus. The main idea behind the buildings design is to promote communication within the building and between the building and outdoor space within the context of a knowledge exchange. This has been achieved by arranging a communicative forum and by the buildings highly transparent facade. One of the features is the innovative energy concept which was developed by an integral design team. By using innovative, maximum efficient energy systems, the building produces a surplus of energy, so that the surrounding buildings of the education campus may be jointly supplied. The building is also a walkable training object in which education campus trainees will learn how to work with innovative energy systems.
