TOGETHER is a Community Resilience Center in Greenville, CA, created to support the ongoing recovery from a devastating wildfire that struck three years ago. Despite many residents moving away, those who remain are dedicated to rebuilding their community. The center, situated centrally in Greenville, offers diverse experiences and activities across spaces designed for spatial flexibility. Inspired by the voids left by the wildfire, the architectural forms symbolize different parts of Greenville, with each space featuring unique concrete shapes to represent distinct areas and functions. Programs include a clinic, library, learning center, gym, playground, garden, skatepark, and food hall. The design ensures durability with precast concrete for easy replacement in future disasters. Key features include varying roof designs for optimal sunlight and ventilation, noise level considerations, and a central gathering space that connects all programs. This project aims to create a monumental space where residents and visitors can connect, feel sheltered, and celebrate a new chapter for the community, embodying resilience and unity in the face of adversity.
