Delight of Woods

Finalist

Competition: Spark:Space
Designer: Fang-Mei Chan
Design Type:
Company / Organization / School: TEI-I Interior design

The designer applied the track lights, projection lights, circular floor plan, and both calm and vivid colors that create for the company the delightful, free and open exhibition center. The indoor space has the small conference room, reception area and balcony. The delicate bar-style reception area, in the middle space, is decorated with the tawny mirror and wood products on the wall, which enliven the entire space. Exposing the delicate textures and calm colors, the wood floors spawn the pleasant atmosphere at the reception area. The ingenious design ideas of circular traffic flows, along with the roll-out wood products exhibition cabinets and wood planks exhibited on the wall, bring out the delicate variations of space and strengthen the effect of visual penetration. Given the confined indoor space, the designer innovatively applies the decoration materials to the floors, walls and art designs that present the diverse qualities and colors of woods. The inward-spiral layout sustains the smooth traffic flows and accordantly corresponds to the ceiling design. This design concept of streaming space character uniquely distinguishes itself from other business interior designs for exhibition centers.
