Last Sweet Money Bank

Winner - Platinum

The design redefines the piggy bank and makes a paper money bag for the image of candy packaging, so that the paper bag has certain functions and expectation. When it is full and tearing open, getting a full coin is like the joy of getting a candy, giving a new psychological feeling to the money-taking behavior. The triangular shape makes it stand firmly on the table, and it is more environmentally friendly with disposable paper. The red ladder coin slot enhances the ritual of coin-operated ceremonies. The one-time material makes "carrying" and "taking" a very conflicting behavior. Once the seal is opened, the piggy bank loses its role as a "save" and becomes the ultimate sweetness.

JUDGES COMMENTS:

Earl Gee— "An clever form which provides unique and memorable user experience. Upon tearing open the edge, the bag creates a functional spout to pour out its coins in a clean and tidy manner—a vast improvement upon the mess of breaking a piggy bank."

Lisa Sullivan— "I loved the embrace of contradiction in this design. The piggy bank paradigm is inverted. Last sweet — Money Bank is made of paper, the materials choice acknowledging that saving for something is confined within a time period and is ephemeral. I thought of cracking open my beloved piggy bank with a hammer as a kid for two bucks for a movie. This is brilliant as each little money bank made of paper can be ripped open by hand, and the remnants are recycled. It teaches a great lesson about saving for a purpose, and that saving is an ongoing lifetime exercise."

Jochen Backs— "Unique Tetra Pak-like packaging with tear-away to access inside. A refreshing idea and execution of an old problem."
