Children that are Insulin dependent and are diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes go through pain and are intimidated everyday. one option for them is to inject themselves with a needle sometimes 6 to 9 times a day. They also have to poke themselves and extract their blood to get their glucose levels checked. the second option is to wear a insulin pump, in which you still have to poke your self once. the ones that wear the pump are looked down upon by other kids and embarrassed. BonBon is a new glucose pump and glucose monitor bracelet. the pump easily sticks to the disunited insulin intake area and does not damage the skin. the insulin in injected through the skin with the micro needle patch that is under the pump. the bracelet has a glucose sensor that senses glucose levels through the skin. based on the levels the pump will inject insulin to keep the child in healthy levels. the reason why the bracelet(sensor) is on wrist is because the levels will be more accurate since its located on another part of the body. parents also can check glucose levels at any time of the day via phone application.
