Unlike tap water, rainwater is free of limestone, making it an eco-friendly resource that does not harden the soil and maintains its natural purity. This project started with the idea of utilizing rainwater to help single-person households care for plants more easily. By incorporating the flow of rainwater as a design element, RAINDROP proposes a way to actively engage with nature in daily life, rather than merely consuming it passively. The lifestyle of single-person households is shifting toward greater efficiency and self-care. However, opportunities to connect with nature in urban environments remain limited. RAINDROP is designed to maintain a connection with nature, even indoors. The act of hanging an umbrella to collect rainwater and using it to nourish plants is more than just a physical task-it introduces a simple yet meaningful ritual of care. Rainwater is free, natural, and devoid of chemical additives, making it gentle on both plants and soil. By seamlessly integrating into daily life, RAINDROP offers a design that is both resource-efficient and emotionally enriching.
