"Wello" is a social robot designed to help children feel more comfortable in the hospital by easing their fear of medical cures. Through cure role-playing and interactive guidance, Wello builds an emotional connection with children, helping them adjust to the unfamiliar hospital environment. It provides comfort by hugging and interacting with nervous children, explaining medical procedures in a fun, non-curing way, and guiding them the way by interesting manner. The robot focuses on the child’s emotional needs, not just assisting medical staff. By offering a friendly, familiar presence, Wello reduces anxiety and helps children understand the cure process, making them more cooperative. It also guides them around the hospital, turning the experience into a fun exploration rather than a stressful situation. The expected outcome is that by fostering attachment and reducing fear, Wello not only improves the child's hospital experience but also supports smoother cure procedures. As a result, it indirectly aids medical staff by making children more at ease, ultimately leading to faster, less stressful cures and a positive impact on the child’s emotional well-being.
