During April three industry trade fairs were organised in succession by the organizer, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. A series of welcome installations were required to mark the entrance of the venue. The functionality of these installations was to indicate to the audience that they have arrived and uplift the image of these trade fairs. With a tight 3 days for onsite setup for each fair, along with a limited budget and the challenge of defining a bespoke thematic style appropriate for each fair’s industry. Our solution came in the form of a mobile truck as a core structural element to meet the various challenges. This one core design format enabled us to reduce the amount of onsite construction wastage and provide more time to transform each fair with its own distinct identity. The first installation was built as a futuristic transporter then transformed into European mobile flower shop for the next fair. The triple reuse series concluded with a pop-up candy stall.
