For wild birds, wildness is linked to survival, and preserving the wildness of rescued birds is a key issue for our project. Wild birds are most often brought into rescue centers as injured or orphaned animals, making up over 80% of the animals that come in. To prevent the loss of wildness due to contact with human caretakers during the rehabilitation period, which can be as short as a week or as long as a year, we propose a modular, non-contact care solution, which allows wild animals to experience less stress during their daily care, and at the same time simplifies basic tasks for caretakers, allowing them to focus on more important rescue work.
