The dramatic interior rises sharply to a high ceiling, which is defined by an rhythm of repeating layers that create visual interest but also hide bulky technical services from the overall view. Cheng says the inspiration for the ceiling came from the ‘honeycomb-like lines’ of the Lamborghini AP700. Chapels normally present a strong sense of purity and harmony. For this reason, the designer chooses pure white as its major tone, and makes appropriate use of simple lines and transparent glass in the design to highlight the tranquil and grand atmosphere of the chapel. The huge French Window not only serves to enhance the overall sense of transparency, but also draws in the scenery of sea and sky integration from the outside, bringing forth a romantic and relaxing sensation inside the building. White was the obvious choice for the chapel interior, but the beauty here is its consistent use and contrast with the dramatic scenery beyond. A still, shallow pool of water surrounds the chapel, reflecting its image perfectly at night. On top of this, the designer skillfully hides the air-conditioning system and the light troughs of the building. Without anything redundant from the inside to the outside, the entire design was made simple and pure, creating a flawless and snowy chapel.
