The opportunity to stand out, to stand for something can be rare in watch design. The central idea of the Movado Edge design was a simple question: how can we draw the eye into the watch dial? By creating a three-dimensional watch face that immediately draws the eye, there is no apparent branding, numbers or images - it is completely pure in form. The most notable design element is the 60 textured ridges, alluding to the seconds in a minute, that outline the circumference. By carving out the interior volume made of an aluminum textured surface, we were able to give it life and reflectivity. As the user's wrist moves, the design changes constantly, symbolically speaking of time as the indicator of change in our lives. The bezel was kept as narrow as possible to visually emphasize the structural details and the expansive negative space. Polishing on the dot at high noon also highlights it in contrast to the more porous aluminum surface. The Edge watch face is timeless, making it the perfect watch for everyday wearability and collectors alike.
