With the advancement of autonomous driving technology, the time spent inside vehicles has become increasingly important. Existing vehicle interfaces fall short of meeting these needs. My steering wheel design integrates robotic eye interactions and ChatGPT-based voice interaction functions, allowing drivers to engage in various activities even while driving. The robotic eyes visually communicate with the driver through emotion expression and information delivery, while voice recognition enables natural conversations with AI. The interface, combining a touchscreen and physical buttons, ensures intuitive and convenient operation. Physical UI buttons are placed on the steering wheel to flatten the dashboard, making it multifunctional for uses such as an office or table. By relocating the buttons from the traditional dashboard and console to the steering wheel, interaction and efficiency are improved, allowing for a minimal, flat, table-like surface. This steering wheel features three modes: Robot Face Interaction mode, Driving mode, and Full-Screen Infotainment mode. In Driving mode, the wheel extends sideways for direct driving. In Full-Screen Infotainment mode, the display expands horizontally for a wide screen entertainment experience. This design transforms the vehicle interior into a versatile space, enhancing productivity and comfort for drivers.
