The Philips Hue lightguide bulb is a decorative bulb designed to offer high-quality lighting and an elegant appearance. Connected via the Hue system, it can dim and display colored light, creating any desired atmosphere. Traditional LED filaments are often associated with warm light only, so we opted for a custom lightguide. This solution provides better light distribution, less glare, and a contemporary look. We aimed to enhance ambient lighting versatility by introducing colored light in a decorative clear bulb. Users felt a disconnect with traditional LED filaments combined with colored light, so we chose a forward-looking solution with less visual complexity. The lightguide bulb offers excellent ambient and functional lighting, fitting easily into lamp holders and designed for both upward and downward positioning. It provides great light for reading and working, and can be dimmed to set the perfect mood, utilizing all the features of the Philips Hue system.
