The Philips Hue Secure app integrates seamlessly with existing lighting functions while maintaining a prominent UI presence. It uses familiar patterns for a unified experience. The tone is clear and reassuring. During security events, the UI becomes authoritative, providing clear, objective information for prompt action. Balancing this harmony has been the main design challenge. Philips Hue Secure in the Hue app is a feature that is used at leisure, daily, arming the home when leaving. But also, in high-stress situations, when a potential intruder is detected, and straightforward information and a clear assessment are vital. In such situations, the user needs to be able to make a quick decision. The Secure UX caters for this: Informing users through the Timeline and Camera live views, having users check status before leaving in the Devices menu, undertaking immediate action in the Take Action menu, and finally resolving the situation by disarming or tapping All safe
