The Solar Smart Home Sensor Suite is a first-of-its-kind solar powered smart home monitoring solution. Developed in-house by Ambient Photonics, the Solar Sensors are a first offering of next-generation smart home solutions. These devices can be deployed in human-habitable spaces and operate without ever recharging. The application of an indoor solar cell for continual energy harvest affords these sensors an improved user experience in that they are “set and forget” …for forever. A homeowner never need get up on a ladder to swap batteries. In terms of form-factor, employing light harvesting means that the enclosures do not have to encapsulate bulky batteries, nor hatches to access them. The reduced enclosed volume yields a sleeker form. The maintenance-free deployment is shared across the entire suite of sensors.
