In 2022, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 struck Seogwipo City, Jeju, South Korea. While other citizens checked disaster messages and evacuated, Mr. Kang, a deaf individual,struggled to understand the message, facing difficulties due to relying on sign language to comprehend lengthy sentences. Similarly, deaf individuals, facing challenges in understanding disaster alerts due to their reliance on sign language, struggle to comprehend and respond to emergency situations. To address this, this product was developed. It serves as a clock and light under normal circumstances. However, during emergencies, a simple symbol indicating the type of disaster is displayed on the clock display, with colors representing the severity of the disaster. Additionally, the product undergoes shape changes during disasters to enhance user focus. A mobile application linked to the product is designed for users to access more detailed disaster information when outdoors.
