Augmented reality is changing how we interact with technology. With it being so new there is a ton of ambiguity around how we will interact with 3-D interfaces. MIDAS is a new kind of wearable device the goal of which is to help people transition from 2-D to 3-D interfaces, by providing a more fluid and intuitive user experience. It is the product of user testing which yielded several important insights. The most valuable being that augmented reality experiences could be greatly improved with the advent of external wearable technology(beyond that of a headset). MIDAS provides improved gesture recognition and tracking through the communication between the headset and itself. It gives the user force feedback when interacting with objects through its four haptic motors. Lastly it provides a tactile surface for the user to interact with that allows for the transition of data and information between 2-D and 3-D interfaces.
