With Moen’s brand equity and loyal customer base, Moen felt they had permission to move into the competitive waste disposal market to further build out their kitchen portfolio. In order to unseat the long-time category incumbent it was necessary to communicate and deliver increased performance that was cost effective. They also realized that a new line of products would need to make both a visual and emotional connection to their brand promise. Consumers can clearly see through design, that Moen disposals are different. The team set out to visually communicate a faster, more powerful, more reliable, quieter, longer lasting, intuitive, recognizable, and competitively priced range of disposals. The strong and iconic design emphasizes the superior VORTEX anti-jamming permanent magnet motor, which is a unique feature to the category. It touts the fastest and highest RPM in the industry delivering immediate torque that powers through dense waste materials with ease. Along with increasing the power, Moen set out to reduce the noise by incorporating SoundSHIELD noise deadening panels. The product line was also developed with a strategic modular focus in order to most efficiently deliver five models in the GX line-up.
