Blind parents often struggle to interpret facial expressions, while young children are frustrated by their lack of verbal skills to express their feelings. To solve these problems, they need intuitive emotional communication tools. Using “touch” as a medium, we created 15 tactile objects that can express a wide range of emotions. Inspired by “The Little Prince,” in which a child's creative imagination surpasses the rigid thinking of adults, we designed objects with different shapes, complexity, and textures so that there are no limits to a child's emotional expression. This approach allows children to freely share their feelings and stories with their parents by suggesting unique expressions or combining objects. Today, the importance of communication between parents and children is increasingly emphasized, but solutions for blind parents are lacking. This method provides a platform for young children to share and discuss their feelings with their blind parents, strengthening the bond and providing emotional coaching and reassurance. The design motif “What matters is invisible” emphasizes the importance of unseen emotions and the parent-child bond. The tactile information allows blind parents to interact independently with their children, and children to learn different ways to express and manage their emotions.
