Lens is a conceptual detachable smartwatch designed to seamlessly merge technology with the spontaneity of outdoor exploration. Unlike existing AR solutions that feel intrusive in natural settings, Lens offers a wearable, easily detachable AR experience specifically for the outdoors. It features a wide FOV camera and compact lidar, providing a less intrusive alternative to AR glasses and a more intuitive experience than smartphones. The design is inspired by traditional optical devices, allowing users to hold it up like a monocular, unveiling a new world with augmented content. Lens includes three built-in AR modes—Encyclopedia, Navigation, and Stargazing—switchable via a haptic side button. The rounded shape fits comfortably in the hand, ensuring a firm grip and stability in various outdoor conditions. As a smartwatch, Lens’s AR features are available only when needed, avoiding constant engagement and allowing users to stay connected with their surroundings. Lens emphasizes seamless integration with nature, ensuring technology complements rather than competes with the environment. By providing spontaneous access to information and enhancing natural exploration, Lens offers a compelling and innovative approach to merging technology and the outdoors.
