Card79 worked with Sentante for its first fully robotic teleoperated system designed for endovascular interventions that expands access to critical care in areas where it is often limited. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are responsible for approximately 17.9 million deaths each year, which represents 32% of all global deaths. Of these, around 85% are due to heart attacks and strokes, many of which could be treated with timely endovascular interventions. A significant number of these deaths occur in remote areas where access to specialized treatments, such as endovascular interventions, is often limited. Endovascular interventions, the standard for treating heart attacks and strokes, have remained largely unchanged for decades. Doctors traditionally perform these procedures manually, requiring them to be on-site with patients. This method limits the accessibility and efficiency of treatments, particularly in remote areas. Sentante allows life-saving interventions to be performed remotely by enabling fully robotic procedures. It revolutionizes access to critical care, enabling faster stroke interventions and remote surgery in time-sensitive situations.
