It’s been estimated that only 85% of the 8-10 billion plastic and wire hangers made every year are recycled. The result is over 8 billion plastic hangers going into our municipal landfills every year, leaching benzene and bisphenol-A into our groundwater for upwards of a thousand years. The Ditto Ziggurat Hanger is the solution to this major environmental problem. Designed for Adidas for their Silver Concept stores, the ziggurat hanger uses low-dimensioned paper to better display the company’s highly designed sportswear. Influenced by topographic elevation maps, the design places volume where it’s most needed, in the outer shoulders. The Ditto Ziggurat Hanger is made from 100% recycled paper (with a minimum of 70% post consumer waste), vegetable inks and environmentally friendly starch adhesives. These single material hangers replace the difficult to recycle plastic/wire hanger and are designed to be recycled along with cardboard boxes at the store level.
