The UCB/OXO Cimzia Prefilled Syringe is the first ever syringe designed for patients with arthritis. It makes patients feel more in control and empowered during the monthly self-injection process, instead of reminding them of their illness. The nonslip finger grip allows the syringe to be held steadily in various positions; a finger loop on the needle shield enables easy cap removal and prevents accidental needle sticks; an oversized plunger rod and a large rubberized thumb pad aid pushing the plunger; and a clear oval syringe barrel assists in needle placement and improves visibility. A 50% reduction in the force required for injection has resulted.
