For 2009 we engaged Pentagram’s graphic design partners to nominate their favorite typefaces for the 2009 Classic Typographic Calendar. Their reasons for preferring a particular font are practical, opinionated, and sometime passionate. For them, every typeface has a personality, an emotional value, a physical presence on the printed page. The fonts they favor speak to who they are, their aesthetic biases, and what they design. The calendar is available in two sizes, a supersize 23-by-33 inch version suitable for wall hanging and a smaller 12-by-18 inch version appropriate for desk use.
