Many life preservers are designed to save one person at a time, but few can save several people at once. Even those preservers are difficult for one lifeguard to carry because of the large size. There are frequent cases when several incidents happen simultaneously in the same place, making rescue difficult. D-Rescue was designed so that it can be split into two pieces, and so that two-to-three people can be rescued rather than just one, and the speed of rescue efforts can be increased.
