The intricate design of the Switch plays a key role in its performance. The aluminum towers inside the globe keep the LEDs in the right position to disperse a full flux of light around the bulb, while keeping them bathed in cooling fluid on all sides. The thick glass globe magnifies the bulb’s inner workings while offering a large surface area for cooling, and is strong enough to pass a three-foot drop test. Switch can achieve a 75 wattage equivalent using only 10 LEDs, versus competitors’ 18.
