Femme Fatale with Literature

A word Femme Fatale conjures up provocative images of women in ads. Yet, the meaning can be interpreted diversely in literature, art, fashion, and film, etc. I chose the literature to broaden people’s background knowledge about that psychosocial term conjuring up the outward image of sexual charm in ads through a literary approach and derived an inspiration from Baudelaires' Les Fleurs du mal. He admired aesthetic elements between the ascending desire pursuing spiritual value and the descending desire pursuing pleasure in his works. I chose a keyword “Duality” from that context and made a variety of patterns through typographic experiments on the subject “Duality”. The outcome was born as typographic posters and art books. This project will serve as a momentum to show another look of Femme Fatale which became an important theme in various artistic areas, whereas many people are still recognizing the word as one of the cultural codes.
