Subway Signal Light
Winner - Bronze
Competition: Spark:Concept
Designer: Ms. Hyun Ju Park
Design Type: public design
This is designed to prevent safety accidents that can happen in the subway. It automatically detects the time of closing the door, when the door opens, and LEDs in a display lamp change in order. This product aims to prevent passengers from being caught in the subway door, in advance. It would reduce the potential accidents by visualizing time. We cannot exactly know when the subway door closes. For that reason, there can be an accident to be stuck in the door, while running towards the subway to get into it in a hurry. Normally, a subway stops in a station for about ten seconds. This subway signal light is designed to maintain the average time of opening the door.
