Soccer is big business around the world, and Soccerex is the top organizer of B2B global soccer marketing events. The initial strategic and creative brief was to revitalize their current visual identity, then to work on the redevelopment of the Soccerex brand for the company’s new event schedule that starts in 2014. In order to create a brand identity which communicated the dual aspects of business and soccer, the creative team developed the simple concept of a businessman playing soccer. Special black and white photography of men in business suits playing football, combined with a golden soccer ball, became the key image to hold the new Soccerex identity together, and this icon was seen in every brand image across all media. Each event was given a core colour (Premium Global Convention = Gold, African Forum = Orange, Rio de Janeiro Forum = Blue, etc), which identifies it instantly across all media. The deliverables included general applications like typography, colour palette, photography, printed marketing collateral, advertising, powerpoint templates, and promotional items such as CD sleeves, delegate guides and bags. Event applications comprised a welcome entrance, press interview and conference backdrops, digital and online banners, external and internal event banners, dressing and signage for communal and VIP areas. Soccerex is now commercially a more attractive brand to be affiliated with, and an easier brand to consistently implement. Business performance and commercial revenues have increased as a result, and the client is extremely pleased with the benefits of the rebrand.
