One of the characteristic features of modern Mexican painting is the development of new artistic means to engage Mesoamerican culture. Inspired by such modern visual representation of Mexican history and legacy, the catalogue has been designed in four sections that resemble a pre-Columbian pyramid. The sculptural end product resulted from the former, also allows the front cover to appear like a canvas mounted in a frame.
