Today's thrift stores are weighed down in their donation bins by the discarded used/worn tshirts donated by caring but misguided individuals. T shirts make up 193,000 tons of discarded wearable product bundled and containered to 3rd world countries destined for eventual landfill. Solution to the wasted resources: UPCYCLE the t shirt material as raw material for NEW design, higher value menswear. Using modern flat bed laser cutting machinery and a pattern pending template, generic T shirts are cut into a one continuous yarn, to be dyed/spun onto spindles for machine knitting for future garments and garment accessories as presented in finished garments as the PLAYFOLDS thesis presentation 5/13/16. This specific processing will allow for 2 million tons of discardable product, including domestic amount of donated and currently recycled amount, to be renewed annually and domestically. The cut yarn will be harvested in original state, each tshirt yielding 3 to 4 yards to be dyed and used for manufacturing brand new high market product. The yarn skeins can be sold wholesale/retail as well.
