Rivella is the second largest beverage brand in Switzerland; founded in 1952, the brand is deeply rooted in Swiss culture and has become a reflection of the Swiss people. However, over the years the the family brand has not evolved as quickly as the culture, with subsidiary brands and flavors that often confused potential consumers. The design strategy exercise for Rivella was to identify the brand’s core values, and create a full-scale identity that both reflected their roots and their future. The new Rivella identity feels modern, youthful, sophisticated and fun - it feels modern for new drinkers, but still feels like Rivella for existing consumers. The new bottles have additional gripping support, and better on-shelf presence. The brand is now emotionally accessible for a broader audience.
