Miles away from home, students need to reside in dormitories to reduce living costs. Yet trying to live together with numerous new people in a limited space with no privacy and a limited number of functional rooms can be highly uncomfortable. It therefore seems necessary to create a space for the students to use, which will make the room more active and lively. Since waiting for long hours for functional rooms is wasteful, it would be better to have those rooms connected to the dorm rooms. Also, since there is a lack of privacy, we need a private shower room for the students to relax in. To incorporate these spaces in the room, I devised a cylindrical room, located in the middle of two rooms, that can turn and provide more functions in the room, and thus more useful communal space on the first floor of the dormitory. Inside the cylinder, there will be two showers, a kitchen and a working area for four students. It will not only solve the problems (of lack of privacy, too much noise, lack of space and inconvenience), but also make the dormitory more home-like for the students.
