The CONNECT design is part of a larger project entitled: IoT Product Design for Dementia, conducted at and sponsored by UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science & Technology), Korea. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach that includes industrial and interaction designers and a clinical physiologist, the CONNECT design provides a viable and appropriate solution targeted at supporting independence and empowerment for users living with early-stage dementia, with their associated memory recall challenges. In particular, the project explores opportunities for IoT (internet-of-things) technologies to drive product design solutions suitable to a Korean use context.
