Spa-Inspired Safety For Any Bathroom. The free-standing Invisia Shower Bench was designed to keep users safe by providing a place to rest in the bathroom. Its minimal design is capable of supporting a 500lbs / 227kgs weight capacity. The seat can be relocated where required, which is ideal in small showers or shared spaces. The biggest challenge was to make a flat pack design support a high weight capacity. Early concepts did not have the longevity or structural integrity that we desired, as the end user would have to drive a wood screw into the bottom of the wood panels. Over time, this type of joinery would deteriorate when exposed to water and the seat would feel unstable. We were able to overcome this challenge by embedding stainless steel barrel nuts into the bamboo panels, allowing machine screws to connect directly to the barrel nuts thru the metal legs and the wood. The result is a dependable solution that customers can easily assemble with simple tools.
