The Leaf Green Laser Photocoagulator enables ophthalmologists to treat retinal and glaucoma disease. The fiber optic cable is the primary source of service failure in traditional systems. The Leaf is the first system to provide a monolithic portable laser/adapter, eliminating a separate laser console and external fiber optic cable connecting to a slit lamp delivery device. A novel technology miniaturizes the laser source allowing advancement in the laser design. The LEAF introduces voice control so the doctor can stay focused on the patient while still adjusting key treatment parameters. Advanced functionality and device status can also be accessed through an intuitive touchscreen interface. A first-in-industry Bluetooth wireless user interface allows great flexibility in positioning the controls for doctor convenience. Additionally, the LEAF was designed to be more economical, durable, and compact. This enables the LEAF to be used by more doctors in more exam rooms, making laser therapy accessible to more patients across the socio-economic spectrum.
