WCG has a storied past, beginning in 2000 in with a small tournament in South Korea. Soon, the event grew, and seized the minds and hearts of international esports fans from around the world, until its sudden disappearance in 2013. Now, WCG is back, and this year’s winners are in need of awarded items to take home. The winning country of WCG was based off the total gold medals won by that nation’s representatives at WCG that year. This trophy needed to be designed to not only commemorate the victory of the winners this year, but all the winners of future years’ tournaments as well. The trophy would need to convey victory while also portraying permanence, to assure fans and investors that the tournament was here to for years to come. The elegant design paired with black chrome and gold pairs the cybernetic with the glorious, in a trophy that is sure to inspire future legends to fight harder for the chance to lift the mantle.
