SHARPEN consists of three gel pens with different shapes, the pen nib is redesigned to visualize its thickness. The shape of SHARPEN resembles a sharpened pencil. At first glance, it visually makes people feel that this is a sharp and easy-to-write pen. Moreover, the length of the pencil point will be influenced by its hardness. For example, a soft pencil will have a thicker tip while a hard pencil will have a slender one. We implemented this experience to our gel pen, using a slender shape for the 0.35mm gel pen, a balanced one the 0.5mm, and a stubby one the 0.7mm. In the past, the thickness of the pen can only be represented by numbers. SHARPEN has now changed that idea. Through different shapes, people can recognize the thickness of gel pens at a glance, therefore picking a satisfactory pen.
