The number of elderly Singapore citizen is expected to triple to 900,000 by 2030. With a declining old-age support ratio and a low birth rate, it is imperative that healthcare is made more proactive to guide people to take pre-emptive steps to keep themselves healthy or better manage their well-being. Embedded with sensors aiming to monitor health, “CanCane” promotes security and improve social well-being of its target users - the elderly. This solution provides the following features: o Empowers the elderly to maximise the opportunities of a digital society, improve their lives, be connected to the world, and have a quality lifestyle. o Redefined the walking stick and augmenting the living condition of the elderly. o Creates a product with access to technology that can enhance their everyday living o Customizable functions to address individual’s preference and needs. o Coupled with a mobile application created for caretakers as a platform to monitor and communicate with their loved ones in times of needs.
