Philips Hue lets people create a magical atmosphere with light. Before Philips Hue with Bluetooth, the Hue Bridge — the smart hub — was the brains of the system. Though setting up a Bridge-controlled Philips Hue system is quite easy, it can feel daunting for many people, especially those who are less comfortable with tech. That’s why we created Philips Hue Bluetooth: to let people connect instantly with the lights in one room of their home without needing the Hue Bridge. It gave us the opportunity to design a new Hue app that was much simpler and gave users the essential features of light control. We wanted to create something that was fast and rewarding to set up — and very easy to use.
