The frequency of new pandemics occurring is becoming higher; education on viruses is growing in importance for this reason. Korean schools are also more sensitive to virus spread. However, virus related educational materials in Korean middle and high schools are severely limited and out of date. These materials make use of traditional means like text heavy literature, wordy printouts and blackboard tools. Our team proposes a virus education app, titled BYE RUS, which provides education on the types of viruses, symptoms, etc. The BYE RUS app also teaches accurate and detailed preventative measures for different places and situations so that people can respond flexibly according to specific behavioral guidelines for different types of infectious diseases. Furthermore, through the app’s simulation function, we strive to enhance students’ level of understanding of virus infection symptoms, visually.
