The location Itaewon has been chosen for the site as it is currently the region where gentrification has the most serious impact. The impact of gentrification in Itaewon was led to forceful displacement in the region. Empty commercial buildings with “rent” signs are easily seen at the moment. However, the impact of Gentrification in this region does not simply impact Itaewon region. However, the Gentrification phenomenon is rather contagious. the Gentrification phenomenon spreader to regions aground Itaewon. Thus, relieving the stress of gentrification in Itaewon was crucial to prevent further Gentrifications. Also, Itaewon is in the center of Seoul and is a region with a large population. This gives even more significance. To prevent the ongoing rise of rent prices one solution will be increasing the supply so that it meets the demand. To increase the space we came up with an idea of ‘parasite architecture’. Parasite architecture is building a space that adheres to an existing building. Specifically, the project focuses on bridge like design. Spaces will gather and form a bridge structure that connects the existing building. The modules will then be used in various uses.
