Repurposing an existing power plant aligns with my commitment to sustainability and responsible urban development. By breathing new life into an old structure, we can minimize waste and reduce the environmental impact associated with constructing an entirely new building. Also, the blend of old and new adds character and attraction to the design. Furthermore, the close proximity of the power plant to South Station makes it ideal for a central hub that connects to various destinations across the city and facilitates efficient commuting. The main hub acts not only as a transportation center for any inter-city or state travelers around the city to funnel in but also as a cultural center. It features a convention center for expos to be held, shopping center, and space for food trucks and cafes to be positioned for commuter’s pleasure. The main hub offers a parking lot for driverless taxis to stand by, bus pick up area, and electric scooter and bike stands for more short distance transportations. Smaller hubs are connected to the main hub and placed around the Boston Downtown area to create a network of hubs for commuters to easily travel around using electric scooters and bikes, buses, and driverless taxis.
