Food waste is a prevalent issue, particularly in metropolitan areas like New York, where approximately two tons of food waste is generated each week. Although welfare services and civic organizations like 'God's Love We Deliver' provide food assistance to underserved communities, this approach can inadvertently hinder their self-sufficiency. In response, our initiative aims to address both food waste and the needs of vulnerable individuals by redistributing surplus food. By making use of unused or expired food from establishments such as 7-Elevens, Costcos, restaurants, and cafes, we strive to create an accessible resource for homeless individuals and those experiencing food insecurity. Starting in New York City, our primary objective is to combat food waste while simultaneously supporting those in need.
