SPIMOS, as an Offshore Spirulina Modular Cultivation-Supply System, aims to propose a new and sustainable way of food supply for all mankind. SPIMOS consists of two modules: the desalination system mimics the root structure of mangrove forests, absorbing water by capillary action and condensing seawater through evaporation to form food-grade fresh water; the closed cultivation system uses solar energy as the main energy source for the day and night maintenance facilities to ensure the normal growth of Spirulina platensis, based on the prerequisites of preventing pollution and building up Spirulina platensis' population dominance. By making full use of the abundant water and light resources at sea, the harmless cultivation of Spirulina obtususus, a high-protein algae, is finally realized. Through the modular design of the device, it is connected into a honeycomb structure, which increases the light receiving area and at the same time enables the whole aquaculture system to quickly adapt to different water surface spaces and reduces the influence of environmental factors. Taking this as an advantage, a complete protein supply chain from farming to processing to selling, from farmers to processors to users, has been built at the level of service system.
