Every day, countless wild birds suffer leg injuries in urban environments due to glass and artificial structures. Most die without treatment because the general public lacks tools and expertise. BirdAid solves this problem with a biodegradable splint designed for easy, non-expert application. Made from eggshell calcium, agar powder, and potato starch, BirdAid provides safe, non-toxic support. The splint is pre-molded and color-coded by decomposition rate, allowing users to choose the right option based on injury severity. Once applied with water, it hardens quickly, offering immediate stabilization. Over time, BirdAid naturally detaches without requiring removal, enabling the bird to regain mobility and be released immediately, preserving its wild instincts. Compact and lightweight, BirdAid empowers bird watchers, animal lovers, and environmentally conscious citizens to intervene responsibly and effectively in urban wildlife emergencies. By combining biodegradability with intuitive design, BirdAid lowers barriers to wildlife care, promotes environmental stewardship, and strengthens human connection to nature. This simple yet impactful solution turns a complicated veterinary task into an accessible action for everyone, helping reduce bird mortality and encouraging more compassionate urban communities.
