With the rapid advancement of AI and autonomous driving technology, people are expected to spend increasing amounts of time not only at home but also inside vehicles. In response to this shift, fika proposes an interior concept that enhances the enjoyment of time spent in autonomous vehicles. fika is a robotic dashboard barista assistant designed for future mobility. As SDV and EV technologies evolve, the dashboard is reimagined as a space that harmonises people, technology, and vehicles. Its flexible robotic arm enhances the in-car experience by serving coffee tailored to the passenger’s mood and condition, bringing comfort and relaxation to the journey. The arm is engineered to adapt to vehicle movement, ensuring safe delivery of drinks and small items. It features a hybrid structure combining multi-axis soft joints with single-axis hard joints. Before departure, fika analyses real-time factors—such as the selected coffee capsule and current weather—to activate a fibre-optic LED fabric, subtly shifting its colour and transforming the overall interior ambiance. fika presents a futuristic mobility solution that redefines the balance between technology, people, and vehicles.
